Week 08 Illustrator
This week we are going to look at Illustrator! Don't be afraid to play around at all! You don't need to hand in a lab for this week - the lab hand in is the Print Map, due Friday 11.59pm.
Foundations
Warning
If you break something, Ctrl+Z (PC) or Cmd+Z (Mac) is your absolute best friend. And if that doesn't work, revel in the chaos.
Setting Up Your Document

Export your map as SVG from ArcGIS Pro

Open your map in Illustrator
File > Open, navigate to your SVG file, and click Open.
Alternatively, you can drag the SVG file from your computer directly into the Illustrator application window. -
Change Color Profile to CMYK
Go to File > Document Color Mode. -
Save onto the Adobe Cloud
- Log into Adobe Creative Cloud
File > Save.
In the Save to Creative Cloud window, type in a name and select Save.

Playing with Tools
Tip
All those little icons in Illustrator are called "Tools". If you need a navigation aid, look here:

- Select different tools
- Find the hidden tools

- Organise your Layers
* Rename them
* Create folders and create a filing system
- Use the Pen Tool

* subtract a point
- Use the Smooth tool.
