Final Project
Overview
This final project represents a capstone for your learning in C183. It is your opportunity to demonstrate the critical design, creative, technical and analytical skills you’ve acquired throughout the course - and to develop further particular approaches which interest you.
Week 12: Research
Week 12 Project Research Guide
This worksheet is not due, it is meant to be a guide for the proposal you turn in Friday 11/14. For guidance on the proposal submission, please see the final project assessment guide.
Week 13: Community Feedback & Counterfactuals
Week 13 Counterfactuals Activity
Week 14: Visual Hierarchy, Layout & Storyboards
Moving past research and ideation, we will be drawing out our visualization ideas for print and web projects. The worksheet below is not meant to be completed, but rather a guide for thinking about the hierarchy and layout of your map.
Week 15: Critique
You are now in the refinement stages of project development. What sets apart a satisfactory project from a compelling story is the fine grain details: how successful is your message, is your information competing, what techniques or tools can you use to make the information pop, what is it missing that makes it less successful?
